Operating a Commercial Vehicle While Impaired Explained

Michigan OWI Attorney J. Dallo explains the charge of Operating a Commercial Vehicle While Impaired. If you’ve been arrested for an OWI offense in Bloomfield Hills, Birmingham, or anywhere in Oakland County, Michigan, or surrounding areas, contact Dallo Law, P.C. at (248) 283-7000 to schedule a free and confidential consultation to discuss your defense.

When someone is involved with an OWI While operating a commercial vehicle, that is also a pretty strict threshold. That’s at a .015 blood alcohol level. And it’s even more severe and strict than let’s say the regular adult use which is .08 threshold. Because, they’re on the job. And they’re not supposed to be consuming anything that would impair what their ability to operate heavy machinery, and in this case, a commercial vehicle. We’re talking semi trucks and vehicles like that, that are on the road, that could be putting other people at risk of course. So it is a much more lower threshold and there are consequences involved. This is a person’s livelihood. This is their job. And I wanna be there when they need me to represent them and make sure I protect their livelihood. And how they take care of their families. There’s a lot at stake. Typically when I have a client like that they’re not just working for themselves, they have a family to support they have children. So I really like to make sure I take care of clients with these charges, understand what happened in those cases, and represent them to the best of my ability.
