I believe that the drug prohibition laws are unjust. They have caused a net negative to society, whereas the only way for the government to enforce prohibition is by violence. Is by no knocks, and breaking into people’s homes, with weapons, to make sure that this lifestyle choice that they have is not being allowed. To make sure that they are charged with possessing a drug that has become illegal by the government. I get really passionate for my clients but this is one of those things that really takes me to another level. Because of my client’s simple lifestyle choice, their entire lives are upended. People are in jail, we have youth in jail at an alarming rate. And especially in the minority communities, and their suffering the most. Again because of a lifestyle choice, because of lack of education. Instead of having this war, really against them, we should strive more to spend our energy educating and helping and teaching. Instead of constantly punishing thee isn’t much that gets me more angry for my client, and more passionate, than when it’s a drug case, so I’m more than enthusiastic to represent them. One of the things that makes me really enthusiastic about representing clients that come to me with drug charges, is my frustration with the war on drugs, my anger with the law that is focused on prohibition, that’s focused on the violence that’s needed to carry out is enforcement. And the harm that is causes our youth, that is causes the minorities in our land. The way it upends the future of a lot of our citizens, and it’s just not fair, it’s not right. It’s a law that’s been really really pushed. And causing a lot of unnecessary suffering.
